organic seed potatoes

Hi everyone,

At previous meetings we had discussed buying a load of
organic seed potatoes for ourselves and to sell on to
the local community.

However, we did not do the trip to Ryton Gardens
(HDRA). So I've been in touch with Ali, who I
organised bulk seed potato-buying with last year. She
has already sent out an email to the permaculture
group about doing a bulk order. I have added a copy
of this email below.

It seems like provision of seed potatoes to the local
area is pretty well covered, with the seed swap this
coming weekend, and the offer of buying into this lot
that Ali getting. So if any of you want to get some,
let Ali know ASAP, as she will have to order more for
the additional demand - as you can see, she needs to
know by tomorrow!

Cheers

Adele

Hi,

Thanks for all your replies about the seed potatoes.
I've had a search round and found some good organic
ones (a few people said they wanted organic)

I am planning to do a joint order for the with the
Bristol Seed Swap and possibly Windmill Hill City
Farm. The seed swap is on Sunday so I need to order
them on Wednesday to make sure we get them in time.
Don't worry too much if you can't reply by Wednesday,
the number for the seed swap is a random amount so
there will be some to spare for you.

The potatoes will come from Tuckers Seeds in Devon
http://www.tuckers-seeds.co.uk. I've suggested a few
varieties. Have a look at the website and let me if
you would prefer any others.

Can you give me a rough idea of how many you want of
what variety in kilos or number of potatoes. The
number of tubers per kilo varies hugely. For the
varieties I have bought previously the number/kg in
brackets, (followed by the catalogue number).

I live in Easton and will be at the seed swap in
Bedminster on Sunday. If all goes to plan the
potatoes should be available for collection from
Friday.

First earlies

it to the order. Postage will be split across the
entire order.
