Hi there, feedback from the last meeting about polytunnel design
(inside).
Announcement:
We are changing our name and after much indecision we are sticking
with :
'EASTSIDE ROOTS COMMUNITY GARDEN CENTRE' or 'EASTSIDE ROOTS' for
short!
SEEDS
Sam and I shared out seed to start propagating on our window sill now.
Please get in contact with Alex, Sam (dreadisam@...) or myself
(Jen- jenwren@... 07747713208) if u would like some seed to
grow
and bring own to the garden centre when they have germinated.
Alternatively come and find us at the Trinity on Sat for pruning
workshop,
to chat about the seed.
Project work so far and help needed!:
Polytunnel and compost loo both need help to finish. We are still at
the
Trinity every monday 11-4pm bring lunch to share. This monday we will
be
staying later to give a small tour and we are holding a meeting from
6-7pm
in the trinity.Co-op Development Agency visiting.
Finally:
Mel from the Trinity sent me this letter, lets try and get involved,
bring
ideas on Monday...
I went to a meeting about this last night. Sounds good, all sorts of
art
and performing art from around the area. Trinity and ECC and other
community centres like Kebele are interested in being "On the trail".
There will also been open houses (brave!) and open studios.
Publicity is printed on 02 April so we need to get a rough plan of
what
might go on at Trinity. I think it would be great to have creative
workshops in the garden - willow sculptures / weaving, making stuff,
art
installations, music etc etc Each artist or workshop leader needs to
register for £10, then I presume you would charge participants. The
organiser would like people to open their gardens too as she
recognises
these as important creative spaces.
Let me know if you or anyone else might be up for this.
Dates are the weekend 29/30 June and 01 July (not Glasto weekend).
Would be good to link in with the rest of Easton better. Us and ECC
would
be either end of the trail like two hubs, if all goes to plan. Need
to get
advice from Kieran about funding. If we can't get funding for a
showcase
inside then we still have outside!!! Good promo for the garden group
too.....
Cheers
Mel
