National Apple Day is 21st October - the perfect day
for us all to have a go at cider making!
I've been apple picking in Leigh Court Farm once
already, and I'll be going again on Thursday (please
do come along if you want to - ring me on 07809228138
and I can collect you in the car) to collect as many
as poss.
If anyone has any apples of any kind going spare, keep
them for the cider making day and bring them along (or
let me know if you can't bring them due to lack of
transport and I can pick them up for you)
On the day we will need:
* An old (clean!) bath, or other large receptical for
washing apples in (old washing up bowl/s will do if
nothing else available)
* Buckets
* Some large thick wooden poles for crushing fruit in
buckets (or please provide other suggestions if you
have any)
* An old table for us to stand at (hopefully we will
be able to do it outside)
* Demijohns, or a 5 gallon wine brew bucket
If anyone has any of these to bring or lend please let
me know.
Also anyone who wants to come will need to bring their
own chopping board and sharp knife on the day.
See you soon!
Maddie
