I've been asked to forward this letter to everyone I know who lives in
Easton - please respond to Jessie Wainwright on 0117 916 6421 or

Help save St Marks Road Street Party!!!

I am writing to you to ask you to help save the great St Marks Road Street
Party. Unfortunately, as with many other community festivals this summer,
despite our very best efforts the event has failed to attract the funding
that it needs in order to operate as it has done in recent years.

But rather than cancel or delay it we believe firmly that the community of
Easton has more than enough talent, skill and good will to keep this show on
the road!

BEST can provide the basic infrastructure (insurance, toilets, security etc)
plus a street market, an arts market (new for 2007!) and are working closely
with the brilliant Gynormous Rawkus and local children and young people to
put on the biggest and best multicultural carnival procession EVER!

We are looking for:

* Entertainment Are you or do you know a musician/band/dance
group/DJ/storyteller?

* Equipment do you have a PA ? Decks? Staging?

* Workshops Are you a talented teacher who would like to volunteer an hour
or two of your time to introduce a new audience to your subject?

* Creative People have you got a good idea for devising a nice space for
people to relax in? Are you a designer who could design a funky flier and
poster using the Visit Eastside branding?

* Promo People - We need people to distribute fliers and put up posters
throughout the city

* Stewards local people in control of a local event

* Local café or restaurant? Could you feed the hungry volunteers on the day?

If you can contribute any of the above or have any other good ideas please
let me know by 5.30pm, Wednesday 27th June. If we do not have enough
volunteers we will have to make the difficult decision to cancel the event.
Let¹s not do that!

Yours sincerely,

Jessie Wainwright
