Stewart Paul Sam etc
Sorry I have not chipped in sooner. I changed my primary email address
which meant logging out and in again to send messages and could not work out
how to change it on Yahoo, so I have just joined additionally with my new
address.
I guess for me ECC has meant somewhere where:
-the agenda is not all about sex
-there is a chance to get to know people in a deeper way
-a chance to try out new experiences and grow with a group of gay men
-a chance to further my acceptance about being gay and feel positive about
it - which I thought I had done but learnt I had not
- some great new friends and the feeling of being part of a community in a
way I had not for years.
But I think it means something different for everyone, and every week I have
been on has been different and meant something different.
ECC has been very important for me for all these reasons. It is quite
special. It is a place where I can't use the excuse that I don't fit in
here because the scene is all too shallow, or its too smoky, or to loud, or
any of the other excuses. If on an ECC event I feel that I don't fit in it
is because of ME, so how can I change?
So for that reason, Paul, you are right that it will take courage to get
there - on a couple of the weeks I have felt physically sick before going,
and I know I am not alone in that. At the end though, it was a wrench to
leave.

latest newsletter please ring 0870 320 5121 or you can email another member

Hi Paul,
Well, I think it will be a great experience from what
I have read and heard! So I shall let you know!
Sunday for chatting should be OK for me, but after the
festival! It is all rather exciting in Edinburgh at
the moment. Lots of plays, comedians and strange
people that eat fire upside down! How do they come up
with these ideas?
Take care
Stew
