Hi Mel, and welcome :¬)
There are currently members of ECC in this group, so if you'd like to ask any ECC related questions, I'm sure people would be more than happy to answer them.
Some people come to an ECC event and find it's not for them and don't come back.
Others drop in and out every now & then.
Others (like myself) see it as a sort of 'extended family' and attend events most years and help to facilitate events and keep the organisation running.
I know my life would be completely different were it not for ECC, whether 'better' or 'worse' who knows! But most of the things I value greatly I can relate in some way or other to ECC so I guess for the better!
There are many 'flavours' of ECC events, some are groups of gay men deciding to spend a holiday together away from main stream society, others are quite structured or themed and invite participants to challenge their own boundaries in a space we try to make as safe as we can.
Having done most of the different types, it's my experience that whatever the 'type' of event there is always an underlying and powerful sense of community and a process of community building which acts like a foundation for whatever else is happening.
ECC has been putting on these events for many years now, so there is a wealth of experience and understanding of what peoples needs are and what can be offered.
Anyway, as I say, I'm sure there are many people here who will be happy to share their experiences with you.
It might be good if you could ask direct questions, as the subject matter is quite vast.
Have fun, and hope to see you at an ECC event soon...
Cheers.
Dave.

I have just joined this group.
I got the details of the Edward Carpenter Community from a member of
the Gay-Spirit Visions group in America who though I might be
interested in a well-established UK group.
I've seen your website and the events you stage and the support you
provide in all kinds of areas are certainly something I would like to
be be involved with.
As I don't yet know anyone from the ECC I would really like to hear
from any UK members who would like to share their experiences of this
Community. I live in south London but I would like to hear from
anyone out there.
I appreciate this group is not heavily used or moderated but if
someone is out there I'd love to hear from you.
Big Hugs
