I can echo nearly everything Jane said about this event.

Plus, if, like me, you don't fancy camping, there's a reasonable hotel only 7 miles away along the A14.  I stayed there last year, and Ann & I will be doing the same this year.

As well as the restaurant, there are various other food stalls, and some stalls selling other bits & pieces.

On another subject, a few people at last weekend's Rhythm Festival seemed to be completely unaware of John's upcoming tour in December.  I don't know how many places are left, but the details are here:

Subject: [Otway] Cambridge Rock Festival aka Rockinbeerfest

Just a quick plug for this wonderful festival next weekend. We've been
going since it started - it's in it's fourth year now - and it's our
favourite by far.

It's actually held under cover in an arena at an animal rescue shelter which
works out well if the weather is bad. They have 60 odd kegs of different
real ales as well as lagers and ciders. The stewards are the friendliest
I've ever come across and it has a very good atmosphere - almost like going
to Dunkerque as there are so many of us veterans there. Otway is playing
on Sunday and Eddie & The Hot Rods are on on Friday - they've played these
slots for the past 3 years.

This year the headliners are Limehouse Lizzy (Thurs) Dr Feelgood (Fri) ,
The Australian Pink Floyd (Saturday doing 2 sets - including the whole of
Dark Side of The Moon) and Thunder (Sunday - I don't know them). But there
are also many more great acts, eg Deborah Bonham, Hazel O-Conner (both of
whom have been brilliant here in the past), Bluehorses (a sort of Celtic
Folk Punk band - if they don't get you dancing I don't know what will), Nine
Below Zero, Man, Wishbone Ash and Big 10 (a brilliant Ska tribute band with
a lead singer who looks more like Buster Bloodvessle than Buster himself
does!), UXL (my son's favourite - a very good teenage metal band who have
recently supported Magnum on their UK tour).

This is a small festival - around 3000 people and has a good clean, quiet
campsite with a decent shower block. You can also use the very nice clean
facilities at the Animal shelter. It's also got a very safe feel to it - we
are quite happy for our children to go off and do their own thing or to stay
at the campsite alone and don't worry about them at all.
