I remember seeing Barrie come on "stage" at the Nashville in West Kensington, must of been 1976 / 77 but disguised as a surgeon, not a Mummy. Don't remember the song but he jumped on the old wagon-wheel that served as central lighting and the management were worried that the ceiling would fall in.
Also the guy next to me banging his pint glass up and down so hard to the sounds of Gloria / Satisfaction that the glass smashed on the table.
Last saw them a few weeks ago at The Fermain Tavern in Guernsey and great as usual. Classic Barrie line: Me: "Hi Barrie, like a drink?" B: "Yes please, a Southern Comfort" Me: "I thought you had stopped drinking whiskey?" B: "It's not whiskey its Southern Comfort" !!! Spot the difference.
Rock ' n' Roll, Paul.
