Hi all
It's been this years 1st really summerlike day here in Londres (for
all you Spaniards out there)and I was happy until KwikFit told me I
needed a new Cat and it would cost me £200 (the man gave me little
slack when I told him I got the last one with a donation to the RSPCA
Cattery). Anyway it's had 12 years ('bout the same age as my last
Cat 'Louie'was when he keeled over - strange these coincidences?.
And he's got to order it when I could go to the RSPCA and pick up a
couple for £20 in the box - and it's innoculated - still, I suppose a
Catalytic Converter is a kind of innoculation)
Anyroad, now for some nonsense
1) T-Shirt is in a Jiffy bag awaiting me taking it to the Post Office
(if it doesn't shut down befor Teusday!)
2) Shoreham - I/We haven't forgotten you mon amis - no excuses, we're
bad, bad, boys. Soon, very soon.
3) Soultax, of which I've had the thigh numbing honour to be a part
of these last 20 yrs, are reassembling in June to do a gig for
charity. For those here that don't know, Soultax was founded by Steve
in 1988 as a present for some 60's Soul fans (friends of his) that
were getting married. It just kept going, and though the gigs have
got fewer and fewer over the years, we always seem to manage to have
about 20 people in the band. it's not clean but we have a great time.
Anyways, if 60's Stax and Atlantic is one of your bags and your
within 'get down' distance of Barnet. You'll also get to see Steve in
a completely different thing of course (tease tease). The gig itsself
is in nice surroundings and there are some top radio DJs giving thier
time. It's for a good cause as well innit, and it would be nice to
see some supperists cutting a rug eh wot?!

Oh yes, someone has put up a couple of Seventh Wave tracks on
YouTube, well worth a listen IMO - an easily missed 70's synth/rock
band. OK, they were mates of mine back then, but I always thought
they should have been much more sucessful than they were. Thier 2
albums more than stand alongside much of what was inventive in the
70's, again, IMO. I'd like to get the CDs but they were only
available for a short while (damn!) - I'll just have to convert the
vinyl.
