Re: [edgarbroughtonband] EBB at the Friars (last night)

Neil - you're right about McPhee - not quite on song, was he? Hey, but not bad for a support band !!
Great gig - all round, loved the Pretty Things. I intended to slip away early as I had a 2 hour drive ahead of me but stayed to the end
because they were just so good. Got home about 2.15am.
EBB were, as you say, Neil, really tight. Edgar seemed to be enjoying himself and was on great form.
Next time, Neil, we'll swap mobile No's and make sure we hook up. I was Billy-No-Mates but had a great time.
Cheers,
Steve

Hi all,

Really enjoyed last nights set by EBB. Must admit they sounded very tight and polished. I would say along with Stratford in 2007 it was the best they've sounded. Its a shame they didn't have longer to play. They played,

Mommas Reward,
Speak down the wires,
Why can't somebody love me
The Moth
Call me a liar
Green lights
Love in the Rain
Evening over Rooftops
Hotel Room
Out Demons Out

They really got the crowd going and the majority of the audience singing along to Out Demons Out. The band seemed to really enjoy themselves. Good to see Andy/Lewis Taylor back in the band. There was a really good turnout in Aylesbury. Must have been a good 500+ people there. Link below is for photos of the EBB last night;

And some of the EBB and other bands;

Must admit it was great to see Groundhogs and The Pretty Things (with special guest appearance from Arthur Brown!). Also saw Peter Jenner on a pair of crutches. Have also never seen so many paparazzi down the front of an EBB performance!

Was it me or did Tony Mcphee's guitar sound a bit off sync at times? Im not one to criticise the great man but I couldnt tell if he had a dodgy guitar or if he had a not so good night. Saying that, at times he was mindblowing. The pretty things were excellent, like EBB, they have an injection of younger blood in the band and they sounded great. Especially considering they had played the Childline gig at the o2 just before playing in Aylesbury. Particularly liked SF sorrow tracks and their blues covers.

Steve, sorry mate, did look around for you but couldnt see you. Hope you got home ok, we got back to Canterbury at 1am which wasnt too bad. By the way, nice to win the FA Cup wasn't it!

Cheers

Neil
