The Ethical Capitalism Network is a non-party political organisation, but may campaign for one united ethical party to lead the struggle for an ethical world. In that ethical world, countries would be free to adopt ethical capitalist, socialist or communist societies democratically.
I, Steve Wallis, the initiator of the network, lives in the UK but want the Network to be international.
The proposals I am currently putting forward for the Network are as follows:
• A fair electoral system that avoids the need for tactical voting.
• The closure of all tax havens around the world.
• The ending of all tax loopholes as soon as possible after they are discovered.
• The seizure of assets of all companies and individuals that try to avoid paying their fair share of tax or relocate to sweatshops elsewhere in the world.
• Ethical practices in farming, such as banning battery chickens and eggs.
• Ethical attitudes towards the environment, concentrating on renewable sources of energy including tidal power.
• The closure of, and ending moves to create more, nuclear power stations.
• Complete nuclear disarmament.
• Truly ethical foreign policies, such as banning arms sales to dictatorships.
• Defence of civil liberties, including opposition to ID cards, the "stop and question" proposal for the police, the Big Brother road pricing proposal, everybody being on the DNA database and extension of the time that prisoners could be held without trial.
• Opposing the continued occupations of Iraq and Afghanistan.
These are merely my proposals to get the Network started. You can debate these proposals or make suggestions about how an ethical world can be created on this discussion forum.
