Hi,
I've uploaded a pre-0.7 package
http://home.arcor.de/ahuggel/exiv2/exiv2-0.7-pre1.tar.gz
and would appreciate feedback whether this compiles
and looks ok on Max OS X and whether it has any obvious flaws.
(And if somebody sees how I can avoid generating the dependency files
after unpacking the tarball, that would interest me, too).
I am planning to make a final release in the next few days.
This release mainly contains changes in the library: The inside-out
design change made class Exiv2::Image the top-level class of the
library. This is the basis for support of other file formats (however,
Exiv2 still only supports Jpeg for now). As a result, the C++
interface changed fundamentally in the way how metadata is accessed.
Existing programs will need to be updated (see the examples). To
improve performance, it is now also possible to access images that are
already in memory.
Additional makernotes from Olympus, Panasonic and Sony cameras are
recognized and the Canon and Nikon makernotes have been updated.
Exif tags now have a default type, which works similar to the existing
Iptc default type.
Regards,
Andreas
