Ive finally thought of something we can do this Sunday.
Meet at Worthy Combe Car Park at 1030am. GR SS858482. Parking £1 all
day.
Walk / scramble, depending on the tide, along the beach to the
Ivystone. GR SS838487.
Do the Ivystone Traverse.(description in the files section of the
site) This can be by-passed if it is too rough or cold.
Escape up the steep ridge above the Ivystone (scramble and walking)
to the alternative coast path then return to vehicles via Culbone.
BRING: Screwgates, Prussik loops, couple of large slings and just in
case some form of buoyancy in your bag such as a plastic football or
container. Keep your bag light.
There is only one hard move on this route and the belayer will be
5ft directly above you. The route is shown on the Ivystone page of
the Exmoor Coast Climbing site.
If you prefer rock boots and chalk please bring them. You will need
walking boots there and back.
If you can make this trip we all look forward to meeting those who
have recently signed onto the site.
Im sorry if you recieve two emails but until everyone moves over to
the site I cannot be sure that I have reached everyone.
If you are going on Sun or need to know more, email or ring me on
01823 251800. Terry
