Jon and I abseiled down the gully to the start of the steps on or
about 400ft. We managed to climb back out the 285ft without pulling on
the rope. We passed 5 steps, 4ft 10ft 65ft 10ft and 4ft. This is not a
scramble, it is a climb. I think 4a VS should give you an idea of what
it is like. We placed a stake in the right wall above the first 10ft
step just below the start of the 65ft of steep bridging up the slight
waterfall at about 480ft. This is going to be a very bold lead which i
think is best left until a dry period when some of the suspect
sections will hopefully cement together.
