Hello Walkers,
For many years now I've wanted to visit Greendale. I managed to do so
last Saturday with a walk that started at Nether Wasdale at 6:45 and
had Middle Fell as the primary objective. Sad news, however, and maybe
a sign of the times. There's no longer a post office in Greendale, no
Pat, no Jess the black and white cat, no Mrs.Goggins and no PC Selby.
But I think I saw Ted Glen mending a fence. I told him about a faulty
gate catch - he just said "leave it with me".
Moving on, I followed Greendale Gill all the way up to the tarn and
it's a good scramble. From there to the top of Middle Fell and half
way down before a met anyone. The pathways between Nether Wasdale and
Greendale / Buckbarrow present good walking territory. I've posted

There's a photo using a mirror for effect, haven't we seen that
somewhere else?
