Dear Dave,
They had taken over the tree a few weeks previous to that apparently its like
someone had thrown angel hair over the tree overnight and all the leaves on the
tree were eaten by the caterpillars. As you can see the tree has come into leaf
once more and has come to no harm. We only knew about it because of a local news
item and as we were in Maidstone thought we'd go have a look at it. It happens
most years but never quite to that extent we are told.
I've just enjoyed your latest pictures from around Malham Tarn I remember
looking at the area around thinking it would be interesting to have a look at
some of the local features but had no idea the Romans had a camp there. I do
remember all the cows however Enjoyed your pictures
