Hi to you all from a cooler and damper Loweswater, although it is showing signs
of brightening.
Many thanks for the great albums that have been posted in the last day or so,
and also thanks to Dave and Jill for their comments on our latest Wasdale
photos.
Dave - an interesting set of photos from Malam Tarn. Don't think I'd be happy to
attempt it in summer months with our dogs, not with all those cows and calves on
the loose though. I see one car had joined you in the car park by the time you
returned !
Ed - a pity the sun shone after you left the summits, we were making our way
towards Kirk Fell at the time, and the weather improved gradually as the day
progressed, deteriorating right at the end of our walk. You have some great
photos of a fine walk, I liked the ones looking towards Sharp Edge.
Jill B - fascinating photos of the ermine moth. Also liked the ones of James
behaving like a kid, and the ones helping Mum to steady her lens !
Gary - enjoyed your Roman fort photos, and your trip up to Lingcove Bridge. We
were thinking of going there ourselves yesterday on a swimming trip to the
lovely deep pools along that stretch of the river, but decided to cut the
travelling as we had to be home by six. We opted for the pools in Langstrath,
Borrowdale, and glorious they were too.
John P - sensible Polly ! A great trip for you with fantastic photos from up on
Gable. Hope you kept reasonably cool, we weren't that far away, but in the heat
and humidity opted for a level walk with plenty of immersion in water to keep
dogs and ourselves as cool as possible !
Neil - a great day's walk in stunning scenery, it really is a great round. A
wise choice to do the High Level route on Pillar, it's the finest way up the
fell by far. Agree with you about the scree descent alongside Bell Rib off
Yewbarrow, it's been deteriorating for a long time. I had a nasty slide/fall
about three years ago on the eroded descent, followed by another of our party
falling down minutes later.
Cheers everyone
Ann
