Hi Folks
Had a lovely weekend away staying near Roybridge/Fort William. I stuck to the
local Corbetts (2500ft to 2999 ft on 72 to do, not that I am counting) near
Corpach on the Mallaig Road walking myself. Good choice as the rest of the gang
walked the hills further east and got mist and rain,I got views and sun, lucky
me.
The hills are covered in alpine flowers, half of which I could not name some I
can, just beautiful though the photo's do not do them any justice. Need lots of
patience and a good camera like Jill :-))
With my knee still not 100 % have to take my time, nothing new there. So walking
on my own also allows me to sit and watch the birds lots of Golden Plovers
though no photo's just to slow to catch them.
The board has been very busy and I have enjoyed reading what I can, see this
retirement lark gives one no time for anything.
I have been out and about on bike a lot to strength the old legs and yesterday
was over in Fife, Dunfermline to Kinross then to the RSPB Vane Farm. Forgot my
binoculars though the RSPB have a lot of telescopes but I find them hard to
focus with, so will have to go back again. Cycling past a field on my way back
to the car and saw a Bustard swope down onto something on the ground about 100
yards away. I watched it for a minute or two but the moment I moved to get my
camera it flow off to the nearest tree, blast. Never been as close to a wild
Bustard before a good size of a bird. Very warm yesterday but back to wet
weather today.
Hope everybody is well and having fun.
Frances
