Roger / Ann and all
We've just got back home from a couple of days in York and I saw your
pictures of the sunset.
I'm a couple of days late a know, but I saw the same sunset and also
rushed for the camera. This time not so much over a stone wall as out
of our attic window. And no trees or sheep in the picture just a ships
mast and a couple of lighthouses. Wasn't it beautiful while it lasted.
It was great watching it drop into the sea.

Another picture of the sunset is at
http://www.davidhalllakedistrictwalks.co.uk/pict0005.jpg

You're not kidding when you say "after all this rain". I walked round
to my Mums on Friday afternoon (only 100 yards or so), but I was so wet
when I got there I just went in and asked for an umbrella so I could go
straight back home, get changed and go back when it stopped raining.

Hi David,

   That's an amazing sunset.
I must have missed that one, i'm always taking sunset photos! Unless of
course it was cloudy over this side of the country that evening.
Hope you had the lovely sunny weather we have had this weekend whilst you
were in York.

Hi All

So pleased that you were looking at that same beautiful sunset
David. It didn't last that long here, but it was truly spectacular
wasn't it?

Grape picking looked hard work, but fun to do in good company
Helmut. What variety of grapes were they? Interesting to see fields
of pumpkins, a first for me. Those elderberries looked luscious !

There was another strangely worded advert from this month's Cumbria
magazine, just above the one I mentioned in an earlier message. This
one offered weekend breaks "with a difference" in Germany.. beer
festivals , Christmas markets etc. Nothing strange you may be
thinking, but it went on to offer "Special feature weekends for
butchers and firemen ". The mind boggles !!! Together or separately
I wonder !!

On that note, goodnight and have a good week everyone

Thatīs what I think always when I am lucky to get good shots: you must
be at the right place to the righ time. Rushing out was the best Ann
could do.

Hi Helmut,

I have just managed to catch up with all the photos from your holiday, they
are wonderful.
You seem to have had very good weather. The lighting & the cloud effects are
beautiful.
My favourite photos are from the last day on the Eastern shore of the lake.
The water looks more like the Mediterranean Sea than a lake, such lovely
shades of blue.

What a fantastic view you had from your accommodation, have you stayed there
before?
Sheila looks to have had a great holiday, walks & swims every day, what more
could a dog want? Well, most dogs, Bailey would have loved the walks, but
not the swimming he hates water!
You took some really lovely photos of Sheila, i have never seen her looking
so clean! Except for the one in the muddy puddle that is!

I hope you get some of the wine from the crop that you helped to pick
yesterday!!

              Regards
                         Angela.

Hi Angela,

Thanks for your kind comments on my holiday pictures.

Just one short comment on our accomodation:
We have not been there before, Iīve never seen Weissensee before.
This year, in spring, our neighbour told us about a holiday somewhere
bought via E-Bay, much cheaper than normal price.
So my wife started to look into E-Bay Austria for this purpose, and
she discovered an offer at Weissensee ...
First attempt she was not lucky, but at the second attempt, she was
the winner of the auction, so we got the week there for 360 instead
of 560 Euro.
Now for the wine crop: I got several kilograms of delicious grapes,
and since Saturday (including the time immediately after crop), Iīve
got special problems that come upon you some hours after eating lots
of grapes ...;))

Best regards,

Helmut

Was there any virus/malware attached as payload here? Most unlikely
to be from V&G but from somebody else with their address on a
computer which has become compromised.
There are free antivirus packages around if the commercial products
are too expensive - no excuse to be caught out.

I think you are - a panorama is a photo with a wide view. Photoshop is
the best I've used. Jill, it's File - Automate - Photomerge. Jasc also
do a good one in their photo album, but not as good for manipulation
as photoshop.

I had a walk up to Little Mell Fell and Gowbarrow Fell today. It was a
bit overcast and I got caught in a couple of showers, but it was still
a nice few hours walking.

The website is updated :-

Angela / Paul
We get some lovely sunsets here next to the coast, but the other night
had to be one of the best.

York was great thanks Angela, plenty of sunshine and quite warm.

Ann
It only lasted about 5 minutes here, but worth every second we spent
looking at it.

Hi Angela
The Gorge is about 15 miles from here and I have driven thru it
hundreds of times but never walk it,the dark shot is in the forest as
the Iron works are off limits, only saw the eclipse on tv.
The boys were eating best pedigree pouchess a rare treat for them, but
they still like eating sheep poo.
Thanks for GB entry.

Hi Helmut,

If I can throw my experience in on this topic, I have Adobe Photoshop
Elements 2.0 installed on my computer and if you go to "File > Create
Photomerge.." you can manipulate as many images as you wish to create a
panorama.

Hope this helps.

Tim
