Taz,
Nearly everyone on the OFC has some way of showing their pics. I tried
and have stayed with Flickr, others prefer Webshots. I think in both
cases it pays (literally) to subscribe rather than take the free
option. It's easy to do. I tend to choose my favourite dozen or so and
upload to the site, having generally taken 5 or 6x more. There are
other providers and, of course, you could build your own website. A
picture paints a thousand words, or something like that, so they say.

Richard,

Hi everyone,

I made it my mission today to catch up with numerous album's on
Webshots I wanted to and I hope I've not forgotten anyone It was not
made too easy as I couldn't access the board first thing but I
checked out everyone I have listed as a favourite as far as I can
make out anyway.

Highlights were Bailey in the bluebells Jayne's lovely red squirrel
pictures, Chris's superb weather in Wales over Easter. Rannoch Moor
which I know I want to return to one day if it wasn't so far for us
to go :o( and of course Barrie's pictures of Sharp Edge Now I know I
do want to have a go at that again if I can be brave enough which I'm
sure I would and if you have someone with you with confidence that
has done it before it really helps. Philip I'm sure everyone who had
visited that spot at CowBar has the same view in a picture Now all we
have to do is take a piccie as good as Joe Cornish does and we can
charge what he does for his pictures ;o)

Thanks too to Helmut for his beautiful flower pictures as ever and
congratulations to your son too Cornwall is a beautiful part of this
country. I've been out getting as many flower piccies myself the last
few days which I'll try to sort out soon. If it wasn't so breezy
again here today I'd been down at Dover at Samphire Hoe to find the
Early Spider orchids The wind is supposed to be easing off on
Thursday or Friday so I'm waiting until then

Ann, Roger and Jo too :o) Would I have rather been at Carlisle or in
Ennerdale? Hmmm that's a tuffy but I prefer the tranquillity of
Ennerdale I think. I have been to footie matches in the distant past
so I can speak from experience on that one.

Angela..it looks like you know of a very good route to avoid the
crowds.

Right I have procrastinated enough today so I better get outside to
do my favourite job, cleaning out the pond filter Ewwwww!

Hi Roger,

Nice photo's of both events. Which one would I have preferred to have been on?
I'm afraid the football would have been a very poor second.

Happy walking,

Two Tales in a day in April

Hi All,

On Saturday last Ann and Jo headed one direction, but I headed in
another, as I joined forces with our son who had travelled up from
Swansea for the weekend.

I couldn't decide which pictures to post first, so here's my attempt
at an entry in the photo section of the Turner Prize - hope it's
simpler than some of the things I've seen being entered for that
conceptual modern art award.

Pictures are posted at :-
http://www.loweswat ercam.co. uk/070428_ Two_Tales. htm

Cheers
Roger

Hi Sean,

Wonderful shots from The Old Man, lovely to see it so deserted. The sky is
just amazing, i wonder how much longer this perfect walking weather will
last!

Fame has arrived for the two lads then...They will be recognised more than
ever now, you better start carrying some signed photos!! LOL
I looked for the magazine when we were up at Easter, but i guess it wasn't
out then :-( Not sure if it's stocked in the shops down here, is it available
to buy mail order?

Looking forward to seeing some photos of the newly shorn duo, but i know
that as usual it will take me a while to get used to their new look!

             All the best,

                           Angela. (Angie)

Hi Angie

It's not in Hampshire shops either (now, there's a surprise) and as I can't wait
until our May visit I've checked out their website:
http://www.lakedistrict-life.co.uk/ There's a link to purchase but I think it
is staffed by REAL people <g>, they ask for your phone number, not the credit
card details. I only contacted them this afternoon so haven't had a call yet.
Hope this helps you too.

I'm looking forward to seeing Sean's pictures of the boys with the short
haircuts. Ollie had his "summer trim" last week and looks rather different,
must take some pictures!

Hi all

The nights have finally become light enough for the softer wild
campers amongst us to start spending nights on the hills so last
weekend became my first wildcamp of the year . The forecast for
Cumbria was for low cloud to creep across from the east during
Saturday night so decided on the far eastern fells as my destination
in case it reached that far .

Starting from the banks of Haweswater on the Saturday afternoon I set
off on the Corpse road up to Selside Pike and onto Branstree . Then
onto Harter Fell , up onto Mardale Ill Bell and after a quick
diversion to Thornthwaite Crag made camp just off High Street summit
using the summit wall as a windbreak . After a chilly sunrise ( the
temperature was down to 2.7 C in the tent , brrr ) there was indeed
low cloud building up over Mardale which came ever closer to High
Street until it came over the summit and poured down to Hayeswater .
Luckily Thornthwaite Crag was clear so was able to take refuge there
and take some photos of the dramatic conditions with cloud
evapourating over Hayeswater then condensing again as it was blown up
over Grey Crag . There was plenty of cloud pouring over into Kentmere
too although it never did get much further . Later it eventually
cleared so I was able to descend back to Mardale with some views at
least .

Photos from the weekend are posted at

http://stigvista.co.uk/lakes.htm

It's good to see the many photos from others who have got out & about
recently , we certainly are getting some super weather at the moment .

Regards

Graham .

Hello Graham

What can I say but amazing pictures of the inversion. I'm sure many will comment
on the wonderful pictures of the cloud pouring over the fells. However I really
liked the the Helvellyn and Fairfield range catching the early morning sun -
splendid.

Hi Angela,

I can sort a copy out if you struggle to get one, just let ,me know.
You can see the results of the haircuts now - lean and mean they are.

Hi Sean,

I checked your site this morning......stunning photo's as ever. Casper was
looking particularly smart but it was unfortunate that Angus didn't feel that he
could make the trip.

Happy walking

Dave

Hi Graham, Great time to be out and about. I love the clouds
cascading giving plenty of drama to the scene, a good choice for
wild camp too. Regards Chris

Dear Andrew, David and Jennifer,

It never ceases to amaze me how people can take so many different photo's of the
same thing. Just think of the number of photo's published of Catbells or The
Old Man of Coniston, but yet they are all different, so it was nice to see your
individual photo's of these fells, which I don't think that I've seen before.

Happy walking,

Dave

Hello Sean

Just looked at your last 2 walks. I was glad to see you all enjoying the
splendid weather we are enjoying. I hope the fame does not get too much for
Angus and Caspar, they might want appearance money next!.
