Just thought this might help some of you to feel less alone (although
I guess this group helps with that!) and maybe it'll help if you show
it to friends / family who don't really understand. It's only 10
minutes long & there's a 3 minute version that has been entered into
a contest so if you have less time you could just watch that one! If
the 3 minute version wins the contest it will be aired throughout
America as a Public Service Announcement and shown at conferences
worldwide.
Anyway if you'd like to watch the full 10 minute documentary, it's at
www.diagnosesupport.com/documentary.htm
It's not for sale but if you want to show it to someone who doesn't
have a computer, we might be able to install a download option
somehow. That's not easy to do though so let me know if you need it!
If you go to http://www.pandoranet.info/advocacyvideocontest.html you
can see the videos that are through to the last round of the contest.
Mine is the first one on the list and the one below is the only other
fibromyalgia entry, so it's between me and her! A winner will also be
chosen from the M.E./C.F.S. videos below (numbers 3 & 4) so you may
wish to vote for one of those 2 as well.
To vote, please send an email to
contact@...
briefly explaining why you feel the video of your choice should win,
with the title of the video and the category in the subject box.
Obviously I'd like my video to win (because my friend who made it put
a lot of effort in just to help with my awareness campaign!) but my
main concern is that awareness is raised SOMEHOW, so if you feel that
the other video is better than mine, then by all means vote for that
one and I won't hold it against you! If you have fibromyalgia, you
need to pick the one that you would like to be represented by,
because the winning video will reach a LOT of people!
If anyone would like to join in my awareness campaign (which is
getting bigger by the day - last time I checked 30 people had signed
up to use my awareness materials to raise awareness) you just have to
sign up with diagnosesupport.com
It's free & honestly there is no obligation whatsoever, we just ask
for people to sign up so that we can map where awareness is being
increased and see where we need to focus on!
Anyway, happy to have found this group :) Hope to be able to help
some of you by sharing coping tips in the future.
Best wishes,
Prickles
