Cambridge Film Festival 2004
It's gems like this that make a film festival so exiting. Vodka Lemon
is just wonderful, wonderful, wonderful.
An off-beat, gentle comedy, that's as crisp and clean as the contours
of the snow that dominates the landscape. Photographed to perfection,
the cold simplicity of the setting is complimented by the warmth and
humanity of the characterisations, and a surreal humour in the face of
the utterly grim social conditions.
This cannot be recommended highly enough. If it does not go on
general release in the UK, it will be criminal.
