This left me rather, well, indifferent. Straight-laced son
embarrassed by free-spirited mother: it's a storyline that doesn't
sound promising, and isn't. The characters, although all well played,
are straight out of the script-writers' handbook, and ultimately just
unbelievable. The lacklustre narrative leads to a final showdown that
is totally unmoving.

Still, the very end of the last scene is a gem! Small consolation,
though, for the rest of this painfully average film.
