I enjoyed this rather dark and somewhat surreal farce. Its warped
humour is not just confined to the rather good script, but also finds
its way into some nice visual touches. With the bright kitschy
palette of an early Almodovar, and its fast pacing, the film comes
across like some demented soap opera, although one which has some
heart to it. For all the endearing absurdity of the plotline, I found
the characters were actually quite engaging, and the serious
underlining theme of the Israeli-Palestinian troubles was handled in
such a way that it avoided coming across as simply a clumsy attempt
at giving the film some worthy credentials.
It might not set the film world alight, but it worked for me.
