Hi,

I have a question for persons working in MH/ forensic settings with patients:

Is it a reportable offense in England/ UK for a person to admit that they have thoughts of molesting children?

Are persons who express this automatically reported by an OT or is it something that the person needs to referred on for?

It is just with the protection of vulnerable persons- I am a little unclear on who gets the priority: the person with the "intrusive thoughts" or the potential victim if the client acts on their thoughts urges.

Who are the referring bodies, or appropriate resources for these individuals if it is not a MH/ forensic setting and you are not under obligation to your Trust work place but still as a AHP?

Do you tell the person go to a GP, psychiatric services?
Are you obliged to tell the police if they won't seek medical help/ opinion?
