Assessing Women Offenders - Difference in Hospital and Correctional   Message List
Reply | Forward Message #2239 of 2549 |
Hi there,

We are two OT's who work within a Forensic service in Australia. We
work across the psychiatric unit in the Female Prison and in an acute
women's unit in a Forensic Hospital.
We are keen to look into exploring if there is any differences in
function that women with a personality disorder may have when they
are in different environments (e.g. correctional or hospital
setting.
We were wondering if anybody had any articles or references that
would benefit our understanding of this population? Especially if any
are from an OT or functional background - so far we have found lots
of theory and research on risk assessment and management but very
little on function.
We are also looking into which assessments we could implement to best
capture any changes in function - We are currently using the Model of
Human Occupation to guide our assessments. Does anyone have any other
assessments that they have found useful for this population?

Thanks,

Marissa and Lyndal
