Since their inception and initial publication the Forge of War and FUBAR rulesets have attracted a wide range of players who were dissatisfied with the Science Fantasy and often highly complex approach of some popular rule sets. The core mechanics of both sets lead the players to make those difficult decisions faced by commanders on the ground and to bear the inevitable and bloody consenquences of sending their men to their deaths.

The original rules, for both games, were imperfect in many ways. I am no genius, just a weary grognard. However, the enthusiasm and dedication of this development group is lifting the rules to a position were they are really playable and, just as importantly, enjoyable.

This group is truly the forge where we beat out a set of rules that will continue to develop and improve as more people play them and choose to contribute to the debate.

Those who contribute to an edition or supplement to these rules shall be credited and recognized on the frontispiece. There is no financial reward as these rules are free to use and distribute.
