I would like to extend a big warm welcome to the newest Friend of Anne Droyd, member number 17, Seann3901. I am assuming you have read Anne Droyd and Century Lodge and have found this site since. On it you will find a series of behind-the-scenes articles on how the characters and story were conceived and how I eventually got them in to print. There are also a number of scans and photographs that should interest you. (There may be a few more at www.anndroyd.co.uk, I can't remember). Anyway, thanks for signing up.
The rest of you may be wondering why things have been so quiet in recent weeks. Well, first of all, I've managed to break my laptop screen so I am only able to look at half of it diagonally. I check web sites with a desktop monitor once every weekend.
The other reason I've gone quiet is I am making good progress on Anne Droyd and the House of Shadows. Some of you have waited five years for a sequel (or three years if you found Anne with the 2004 Asperger edition) and I feel it imperative that the second book be published soon - otherwise the established fan base will dry up.
There may only be 17 members of this group at the present time, but I know there are many more out there who are gasping for a new story. The first thing people ask when they write, or the last thing as a P.S., is "When is the next Anne Droyd coming out?" I'm delighted to know that you are so eager.
The way things are going, it should be with you early next year.
