Friends,
Just a quick note to say I'm back from Hippach village near Mayrhofen (prn Mia-hofen) in the Tirol, Austria - and had a brilliant time. I was inspired as a teenager by the Alpine scenes in Heidi and The Tripods, especially the latter, with its references to "the white mountains" and Will Parker's bogus identity when entering the Tripod city of gold. He called himself Willie Sachs from Tirol.
And only now, twenty one years later, have I been able to see it for myself. If you like picturesque scenery and walking, I can't recommend it enough. If you prefer sun bathing on the beach and nightclubs, forget it!
