I beg to differ, and again, for my final attempt at clarification on this point: I was talking about the illustration's appearance of nature... How the text conforms to the illustration is the differentiator between either going beyond or conforming. I was leaning towards conformity for a sense of blending. But am not against going beyond, to me it just doesn't look as clean.
Glad to hear other opinions as it helps to give some broader perspective.
