Hi Rachel,

This is to remind you that I have sent a piece sometime back, which you have acknowledged the receipt of and informed that that particular  piece will be receiving a space in the next issue.

Over and above that piece, may I send a contribution with photo on the contemporary issue of global terrorism in the context of  bomb blasts at 7 rly. stations on oneday on 11/07/2006  in Mumbai, financial capital of India and other places vis-a-vis concern of U.N and other associations ?

If yes, by which date ?

Yours,

There are two brand-new tracks, whch were meant to be for my theoretical
side-project (was gonna be called German Film Stars), but once I'd
finished the music, Marie nailed one and Dan the other...so I hope they'll
be up for grabs. Both in open G as per my current obsession with all
things Low...

Hiya,

We've been finding it hard to keep up with making friends of the
heroes fortnightly and often find ourselves at the last minute
without enough articles. Rather than just keep plodding on trying to
force something that just isn't going to happen we've decided it is
time for a change.

For a start we are going to go monthly and produce a new issue on
the 1st of each month. Hopefully this will make remembering the
deadline a bit easier!
Ideally we would like people to keep sending stories, articles or
whatever else they have throughout the month so we don't end up with
a last minute panic. Also don't feel you should restrict yourself to
writing just once a month! Write as often or as little as you would
like!

We are also going to resurect the blog. For those of you who don't
know what I'm talking about the old blog can be found here:

http://www.friendsoftheheroes.co.uk/today/

It will be different though, and once our redesign is complete it
will become a place where short music/book/or film reviews, snippets
of stories or poems can go. It will also make up part of the main
contents page so hopefully people will come back to visit us
throughout the month.

We'd like as many people as possible to be involved in writing in
the blog and the topics in there to be as varried as possible so
that it becomes a mini version of the current version of foth.

To do all of this the current webdesingers for the site have decided
that we will take a break of one month and return on the 1st of
August with the brand new issue. Thanks to everyone who has sent me
article and story recently and sorry we won't be using them straight
away but we will use them on our return!

Also we'd like to make our return after the months break as
spectacular as possible so if you have any ideas of how to do this
get in touch!

Please let us know if you have any other ideas of how foth could be
improved...

Hope everyone is well,

Take care
Rachel

Hi Rachel, how are you?

Sorry for lack of input recently, I've just started a new job in London so
been pretty busy. I'll have some things to send soon.

I would be around for a picnic in August, sounds fun!

Hope all is well

Hi Rachel,

Am I right in thinking that you’ve now run out of reserve editions of ‘I Promise to go Wandering’ and therefore I need to get my arse in gear before the next edition?

And thanks for including my review as well!   *well chuffed*

I think i have some good articles if you want them/if there's room for them.

First I've found articles from mainstream newspapers and the BBC along with Human Rights Watch and Amnesty International reports that show that a counter-terrorism unit formed last year has a head who was involved in collusion with loyalist terrorists in Northern Ireland and the murder of laywers including Pat Finucane. A member of the same unit - the Special Reconnaissance Regiment - was involved in the De Menezes shooting according to the Observer and the Sunday Herald. On top of that when they were in Northern Ireland they supplied the
IRA with bomb making technology so that they would know how to defuse IRA bombs - the IRA gave this technology to the PLO and Hizbollah - who then gave it to the Iranians - who gave it to the Iraqi insurgents.

Second the Labour loans are linked to PFI because some of the lenders are the chief executives of firms with PFI contracts - including the head of Reed Healthcare International - which gets PFI and outsourcing contracts in the NHS - which have led to the 'overspend' by NHS trusts and them being forced to sack thousands of staff.

Let me know if there's room and if you want them and if you do i'll do them but i'll keep them each under 1,000 words.

Hi

I've got a short story I could send? I'll look it out later this morning?

Yes - to an online meeting - and to a get together - with notice, anywhere
in UK would be OK but pref North England or Scotland.

Hiya,

I hope everyone is well and stuff.

Here are a few quick questions:

1) would anyone like to keep having weekly online meetings? I keep
forgetting about them, until the time passes. But I think they were
a good thing and we got a lot sorted out. If anyone would still like
to have them let me know and also suggest a time and we can maybe
resurrect them.

2) has anyone written anything for the next issue which is on
thursday? or do you plan to?

3)would anyone be interested in coming to UK foth get together
sometime in may/early june. If so please suggest times or places
which would be suitable for you! It would be good to meet some of
the new writers.

4) also Johan, any news on your visit to the UK?

Hope everyone is well,

Take Care
Rachel

Hello folks,

Anyways. Yeah. No stuff from me, for awhile.

Stay well,

I might have one or two short articles if there's room - one on the link
between the Labour loans scandal, PFI and NHS bed cuts - and another on
Iraq.

There are millions of people facing death from starvation and
dehydration right now in Africa due to droughts and famines and we
can all save some lives just by donating what we can afford to the
Red Cross.

They've helped Katrina victims and they'll help Africans too - none
of this money is wasted on un-necessary bureaucracy and none of it
goes to corrupt governments or officials - it all goes straight to
providing food, medicines, healthcare, clean drinking water etc.

So if you haven't donated already it only takes 2 minutes to save
someone's life.

For the American Red Cross donate <a

can even choose what areas or projects you want your donation to go

I decided to follow Chaucer and write heroic couplets (or attempt to, anyhow) and tell about some people on a van, riding to town together. It's alright, I think. I sent it to you, Rachel, in case you needed me to restate that :)

Hello all you lovely people.

Thanks

Hello and stuff,

I hope you are all well. I am doing my normal "I'm too early for
work so I'll write an email and make myself late" type of thing that
I seem to do every morning.

anyway just to let you know we have a new issue coming up on
thursday. So far we have:

A story by tom, the next installment of I promise to go wandering by
matti, some poems by our new writer Daniel (all wave hello to him!)

If anyone else would like to write, please let me know.

We probably have some reviews too, but Johnny has had to leave the
country as he is on the run from the police. If anyone has sent any
reviews or anything musical to him please send them to me too so we
can put them in the next issue!

Take Care
Rachel

PS if you spot Johnny, do not approach him, he is armed and
dangerous.
