Not so. They've been flooded out with complaints, so much so
that the whole problem is being dealt with as a national spectrum
abuse issue.
The result so far where BT units are involved, has been that BT
provides free of charge, hard wiring (but only up to 10 metres
between appliances) or that it will provide a replacement
poweline device with rf radiation 50 db down on original
units. The remedial effects of the latter have yet to be seen.
Obviously if you have interference from these devices, signing
the petition won't have the magical effect of providing an
instant, or indeed any cure, but people supporting it do
signify concern over and show unity on the issue. Those radio
amateurs/SWLs who aren't interested or feel the issue is best
left to divine intervention or solely to the RSGB, will of course
do their own thing.
As a matter of incidental interest, what this issue has revealed
is that the the one time view put forward in some quarters that
amateur radio is not a "protected service", is a lot of old cobblers.
