OK re caps for antenna I only have some reasonably spaced variables.

But only a few hundred pF,s.

Might see if John Eley has any vacuum variables but imagine he will have sold them as they go well over £60.00 !!

Tune to resonance with or without existing ATU maybe no prob but as its SSB need quite a fair bandwith 1830-1900 Possibly up to 2000 KHZ

One of the club members has a Chinese copy CG3000 Auto ATU might do the job.

Could maybe mackle up a 1/2 killowatt but not sure would be happy to leave in the hands of inexperienced ops !

Will try and go for the 60/70 ft version as below.

Always put a pully on any erection as a matter of course.

Can put the far end up to approx 50 ft as we have a pump up or three !!!

Radials may be a problem as we need to leave car park safe and accessable but maybe 2 or 3 discreet down the lane and towards to farm.

I need anyway to fully bond the P40 P60 and both Lecture room and HF shack so though not resonant would assist.

If time allows could put up some raised radials at abt 5 metres height.

He has a DUAL aircooled PA about 1.5kw capability hehe

About 60ft vertical or semi vertical away from tower on stand offs a few feet then 70 or 80ft hortizontal with long nylon cord on end to support down garden that will keep the wire as high as poss at end

The matching is fairly easy need silver mica caps ex gov high power used to around 1000pf and 2000pf if you have vacuum 1000pf cap super you should be able to tune eassily feed with coax with abt 1000pf in shunt from vertical wire to ground maybe series c to tune or just prune the horizontal section for resonance

After Sat leave show about 4pm to east mid airport then National express to sheffield then Doncaster b&b then Sunday exhibition at air museam then with G3OHH back to stay a week or more to sort remote station out
