Have changed antenna @ LRS for the lower frequency bands from the
long wire to an offset dipole (Windom)
Briefly antenna is 260 ft of wire with an offset feed,
With a vertical section of 27 ft,
It seems to work fine withe the Trio Auto ATU tuning all bands
(apart from 10 mhz) 10 mrs to 160 mrs.
Initial reports seem favouarble particurly well performing on 160.
Will attempt to tidy up feed but am working nights so dificult for
the next couple of weeks.
If your interested in this form of antenna then connect to

Hi

Its the old story of if you sell, scrap or give away something you'll
one day want it again yourself.

Does anyone at LRS have a receive converter from 432-434 MHz input to
144-146 MHZ output which I could borrow? I sold my Microwave Modules
converter years ago - having got a 70cm to 10m transverter - and now
I could do with it for some DF experiments!

I might otherwise have to resort to listening for third harmonic on
23cms - assuming I didn't part with the 23cm to 2m converter as
well ... it must be in the loft somewhere ....!

Hi, anyone QRV on SSTV on 144Mhz?
I'm interested in starting an SSTV net/activity night, firstly on
144Mhz, around 144.550Mhz the SSTV calling frequency. If you are
interested let me know your best nights and times so that I can set
something up. There is some activity on a Wednesday night to the
north but I can't copy much of it down here in the dip.
Any help needed to get started on SSTV can be given. Lots of good
S/ware freely available on the Net......

73 hope to SEE you on 144.550Mhz soon.

NOVEMBER 13th
CLUB CALLS FROM HOME & @ LRS 1870-1990

This is one contest I'm interested in and want to encourage as many
members to take part in. It's a good way to promote the club and it's
members. One can either operate from home /p etc as a "club member"
or join in the fun at LRS. It was discussed during the committee
meeting on Monday and I'm sure if anyone is interested the club
station will be activated.
Please spread the word around and lets make this a real club entry.
If interested please let me know asap and further arrangements will
be made.

Amazing what you learn by not speaking to anybody in person,
Maybe we can run the committee this way, no need to attend meetings at all.
