Think that sums it up - going into the series Vs the Braves, I felt the Phillies
just had to avoid getting swept. Although we dropped game 1, we took game 2
easily enough and then snuck game 3 despite being outhit 9-5...thanks to 3
homers. Didn't play great the rest of the week but managed 5-4 overall thanks to
2 unlikely comebacks Vs the Rockies - game 1, 8-2 down, bottom of the 9th, win
9-8. Game 2, 7-2 down entering the 8th, 7-4 in the 9th, and an 8-7 win! We got
the drubbing we deserved in game 3!
So with 5 weeks to go, we've got a 14-game lead over the Braves - with fatigue
issues reasonably in hand, we're unlikely to blow that. But this week showed
again that when up against the Rockies or Dodgers, we look pretty inferior,
never mind the Rangers or O's. Post-season chances don't look too hot.
