Well afetr a frantic winter we have totally redesigned the layout of
our garden. We currently have a huge supply of ricinus(all grown from
seed)sitting all over the house ready for the weather to pick up.We
have decided to post a few more photos just showing what the new
layout looks like before everything gets planted and takes off.
Hi, it is lok, I live in London
look around. How's everybody?
Hardy annual seeds had sowed last week, but temp drop down. How unlucky I am.

more unusual.Cheers Rich
I live in the north east of scotland and would like any advice or
tips on suitable container plants for the scottish weather. I would
really like something which would look nice but not need much care,
and would grow almost anywhere.
Can anyone help.?
I have added two pics to the group album.
They are scans of the leaves from a bush, that is growing in my front
garden.
The bush is one I was given by a woman whose garden I had turned over
about a year ago. The Leaves are green with dark red edges. The
branches have a reddish brown colour with a green underside.
It stands about 18 inches tall and is woody, similar to that of a
privet. I have planted it at the back of my raised herb tub as I
quite like the look of it.
Can you identify this plant ?
Please contact me at Kennethnicholson@...

Hello,

I am new to the world of gardening,
having just moved to a house that actually has
one!

But I need help!!

There are two existing
borders, that have been completely dug over and I want
them to be gorgeous by this time next year ( I thought
I might be too late to plant anything now?). The
soil is clay, they both back onto walls and the garden
is NE facing, so are often shaded How should I
prepare them, what could I plant (bearing in mind I don't
have too much money to spend, and I have young
children and pets so it would have to be 'safe' plants)
and when should I do it all? Any help or advice would
be oh so appreciated

Thank
Melissa
I have looked at your question (pittosporaceae) like all evergreen they can be
pruned Sept/Oct but keep the young growths planted close makesgood wind brake
round garden
Hello, I am not sure if I have spelt it right,
but could someone tell me when I should prune it - I
have one that has grown to about 10foot and would like
it to be no more than about 6feet.
Thanks Sue
Hello! I'm from Los Angeles but living in London
for the time being. I've moved into this place a few
months ago, and the garden was in shambles. And I'm
afraid I haven't got any experience at gardening
although very keen. Got lots of questions and I do hope to
see some others here. I'll check back soon I suppose.
