I've used it on the Yorkshire Moors and it is fine - and up Moel Famau in N. Wales.

There is NO NEED to manually add WAYPOINTS - it is permanently recording a TRACK which is then downloaded in to relevant software later. Default track record time is about every 3 or 4 seconds... using SMART TRACK, but it can be set to record at higher sample rate, about 1 second, if you need that higher level of resolution.
