RE: [garminforerunner50] Data irregularities

Hi C

Thanks for the post. Tristan here... www.heartratemonitor.co.uk

I have one question... what is the data like when view on the TRAINING CENTRE software?

In the T C software, you can view data SMOOTHED or more "raw" with all the spikes etc.

Regards,

Tristan

Subject: [garminforerunner50] Data irregularities

Just got my Forerunner 50 a couple of days ago, and despite the low
traffic here, this is the only forum dedicated to it that I've been
able to find. If there's some other, more active, discussion area,
I'd love to know about it. But maybe we can get this one going?

I purchased the watch with HR strap and foot pod, plus the bike
sensor. Everything seems to be working great.

My biggest issue right now is with the data displayed on the Garmin
Connect site. I've only had time to upload a couple of workouts.
But I'm seeing a trend where the first five minutes or so of data
show a lot of variation in speed and HR, which I actually kind of
expect. After those first minutes though, the graphs flatten out
dramatically, even though I know my speed fluctuates significantly as
I go up and down hills, or come to stops on the bike. Is this
typical? Is there some sort of averaging going on?

While the Forerunner 50 is undoubtably going to be overshadowed by
the just-realeased 450, it's still well suited to my needs, so I'm
hoping it can develop an online following.

C.
