RE: [garminforerunner50] Accuracy of the foot pod?

Hi

Please see the results of a test we did a while back

I have ran dozens of 10K's and a coule of 1/2M's wearing both GPS and foot pod.

Result?

No real difference, bith giving at least 96% accuracy all of the time.

The best I EVER had was the Foot Pod on a 10K road race. Distance ran 10.00 km

Remember one thing.. there is NO difference of foot pod accuracy across makes, they are ALL made by DYNASTREAM. Same technology, different outer and communicating freq to watch only.

Foreruuner 50 is here to give people GOOD value HR, speed and distance feedback, with FULL PC download. It is DEFINITELY not intended to replace the 305.

It does that really well.. there is nothing close to it for £119. The Suunto T3 with FOOT POD and PC POD costs about £180

Cheers

Tris

Subject: [garminforerunner50] Accuracy of the foot pod?

How accurate is the Foot Pod device compared to the GPS used on the
Garmin 205 and 305, for measuring distance ran or walked?

For example in a 10Km race, ran at different paces, as runners tend to,
over undulating terrain, will the foot pod accurately measuring the
10Kms ran?

GPS has an accuracy of approximately 97%, although looses its signal
often, running through wooded areas or locations with tall high rise
buildings. Is the foot pod system more or less reliable?

Will the GarminForrunner50 focus our attention on improving our
performance or will it act as a distraction from doing really hard work?

Will the GarminForrunner50 continue to be used after 12 months, or will
it be put aside and gather dust, eventually being replaced by the next
gadget released, just like a child's toy?

Things to think about before, saying what the ........ and just buying
it ! ?
