IMO, this nasty little poll of ITV's ought to be scrapped.
Less than 24 hours had gone by after the announcement
of Richard's death, and what did ITV do?
Answer: At a time when emotions among friends of
Countdown are at their most raw, ITV chose to misuse
this whole sad situation to carry on "war by any means".
They have done this by trying to attack & destabilise
the survival chances for one of rival advertisement
supported channel C4's most consistently successful ad
revenue attracting shows. With ITV's means of attack
being a poll which appears to be deliberately designed
to confuse people into accidentally voting "Yes" to
scrap Countdown when actually they meant to vote "No"
in favour of Countdown carrying on forever.
Well shame on you ITV, shame on you.
At a time like this, surely we would ALL prefer to be
free to think of Richard and to think of those people
who are missing him - and nothing else. Free at this
point from nitpicking concerns about what may (or may
not) happen with the show at some point in the future.
ITV, allow us bury our great Caesar *before* you resume
such petty hostilities. Now isn't the time for war.
