Thought Des did OK. He said he was nervous and it looked as though he was
conscious of what an act he has to follow, so was trying to ensure he didn't
make any mistakes. Some might even construe his debut as bland, but I'm
sure he will soon be bringing his own dry humour and audacious flirting with
Carol to the proceedings. The challenger had an incentive to win as he
collects teapots, but for anyone who missed it I won't mention the score in
case Countdown is still being repeated (does anyone know?) I liked the
round where Martin Jarvis said "the only other 6 we have is something we're
all in now" (STUDIO). At this point I was wondering if anyone would shout
out the only 6 I'd spotted, which was COITUS!

Mark Saunders here - This is my first post for a while and just
thought I must tell you that it is of great sadness that I put the new
countdown on to timer record as I was at college at the time of
transmission and guess what.... I forgot to check to see if the time
had been changed to the new time of the hour going back so it failed
to record the programme :(

So as a result please can someone please let me know how it went?
