Most alarms can have their sensitivity adjusted,
so it should be perfectly possible to make it go off
as soon as one of the runts sneezes on it.

If
they're doing it often, i would be tempted to wait there
with something suitable to hit them with.

Mash

the screw on the fron wee that dont bolt on the
wheel are 6mm.

Ordered mine on saturday. Expect
delivery today or tomorrow.

My only concern is the
screwdriver mechanism ~(as I've used similar before) and if
it put under press ure things become loose and fall
apart. Perhaps find a 6mm open ended spanner to fit
aoutd the shaft?

Many Thanks uksj.

This is a good idea.

The 6 mm screws, are they they correct size for use
on the Runner? If so, I will be ordering them this
week.

It makes you wonder why the manufacturers do not use
this type of security too!!.

Again, thanks for
you help.

Alan

What has not been mentioned is that many alarms
flatten a good battery in about 3ish days to the point
where the starter does not work.

Some person
with questionable parentage on their farthers side
stole my tax disk and holder.

I decided to use
tamper-proof screws to to deter the little
b******s

goto http://rswww.com
and click on search, a search
boxes appears, use the parts number one.

look
for RS stock codes 314-2977 . this is the Hex
Security Penknife and
233-9906 . this is the 6mm
Tamperproof Pin Hexagon Security Screws, A2 Stainless Steel.
the result will show other sizes too.

We use a
smaller size at work and they are real buggers to get off
with out the right tools.

RS also do a torx
version too for extra security?

mine didnt hurt the handling, I had a little
"sprint rack" type thing the underside of the little
panel behing the seat is marked to drill, or you can
get predrilled panels - I know it's sad, but after
haveing one I wouldn't do without one (even put 1 on my
Vespa now !)
I use Shad boxes - they lock on/off
easily with the key & are sort of like a breif case so
they're easy to carry

Can anyone out there please give me some advise
on the following problem:

3 weeks ago some
Bas#*d Kids managed to take almost all of the front
panels of my Runner. I had them replaced costing over
£250.

These Bas#*ds have twice tried to remove the panels
from my Runner since then. Fortunately a neighbour has
spotted them and they ran off.

My Runner is
securted to 2 ground bolts and is also covered at
night.

I have looked at getting an alarm fitted but they
mainly seem to be motion alarms which are of no use
since these Bast#*ds don't actually move the
Bike!!

Is there any other types of alarm that I could use
that would activate if someone were to try and remove
the panel?

Does anyone out there have anyone
suggestions please, as this is begining to hurt my
pocket!!

Many Thanks in Advance for your help

Alan

I just don't get enough upward (and more rear
would be helpful) adjustment out of my mirrors. Even
moving the arms does not correct this
problem.

could someone recommend a replacement or where to go -
in the nicest possible way.

Yeah, I think its quite safe to say 'never go out when the roads are white' Now
matter how hard you try youll only end up doing some fancy skating on the
roads.

Mash

I recommend finding a pump which works every
time. Tescos pumps always cut it off at just the right
time, however Im certain theyll vary wildly around the
country. So yes once I get to 10 litres I always slow down
a bit.

Mash

Brem - my better half has a rack on the back of
her runner - no topbox. The rack looks good, and
doesnt require any drilling of panels. I think it was
around £40.

dont affect handling (this may be
different with a topbox
just 6 screws, no
drilling

theres a pic of it in the other yahoo runners club under

Filling up your Gilera Runner can be a difficult
task as Apu knows! Holding the nozel rite the way in
the tank and only pulling the fule leaver to 1/2
should fill your Gilera up quickly and safely. You
should also roughly estimate how many liters its gonna
take so that u can slow down as u get to 6 or 9 liters
etc!

Any more sugestions welcome!

Cheers,
Trev

When the box is empty it'll catch the wind, when
its full itll still catch the wind but also weigh you
down, which can be a good thing.

Givi make very
robust ones at a good price, however the small bracket
which connects to the Runner isnt a great price. Ill
see if I can dig out the prices for them.

Mash

Remember that your runner will bring you many new
friends. I am lucky to say that as a direct result of that
runner, I have made 5 out the 6 of my best friends...they
know who they are, they are all members!!
And then
of course, another great friend, Matthew...up for a
Mc D's again on one of my THOUSANDS of upcoming
trips past Luton?

Does anyone have a nice way of working out the
stopping distances for a bike? and does the same rule
apply to cars? So far Ive been told:

1) divide
the mph by 2, take the first number, multiply it by
the original speed and add the original speed again.
So

60mph / 2 = 30
1st number is 3
So 3x60 =
180
add 60 again = 240(either feet or yards)

2)
add 150%

So 60+150% = 150

Mash
