Re: [glasgowspeakgroup] (unknown) Edinburgh 2nd July & next meeting

Hi David, the bus I booked cost £290 for 49 seats,
9:45am pickup and departing Edinburgh at 5pm. That was
from First Bus - though I've heard some other
companies may do it for less (Fairline, Abbey).

Also on Edinburgh, Emma Cowan from Speak emailed with
some info on the big dress - see end of message.

Should we have a group meeting soon? Our last one was
8th May so a month on would be 12th June. My house
could get busy after that as 5 people will be staying
here from about the 19th.

Hope everyone is well.

I really would love to write a mega long email,
however it is Sat morning, I ma not supposed to be
working, plus I have friends at home, so I will
attempt to be concise.

I have been pants at communication! No excuses,
however here are a few things I have been meaning to
communicate for weeks!

Some of the SPEAK Network support team: those who work
in full tim capacity will be arriving on Thurs night,
others on Fri.
The Big Dress will be coming up (somehow not yet
finalised, PRAY) on either thurs night or Fri, it will
be put up on the Fri. If there are peeps around on Fri
to help construct the marquee/dress that would be
utterly ace. It would also be wonderful to have
creative input as to what the inside looks like. Is
there any way that we could have the photo exhibition
that was mentioned when we met together??

On Fri night we are doing a prayer and meditation eve
with tearfund in St Columbas Free Church, 14 Johnston
Terrace, Edinburgh, EH1 2PW. It would be brillo if you
would like to come to that?! 10-12pm. I know that TF
are doing prayer on Debt, Trade and Aid and we have
been asked to write some liturgy. We are also incharge
of facilitating prayer for the G8, the rally, and for
eachother. If you llovelies can think of ways that we
could do that creatively, please let me know!!!

Sat: well, we will have a stall for campaigning in the
campaign zone and the Big Dress to 'person', we will
have about 20 speak people there, but if you would
like to help out for an hour, either praying in the
Big Dress, chatting to people, serving drinks (if we
get a licence for the cafe)....do let me know if you
would like to help in any of those ways.

We will need to take the Big Dress down completely on
Sat eve, so again, all hands on deck to help if
possible. The MPH team only have permission to have
tents on the Meadows until that eve, so we need to
comply. Pity, because I thought we could have camped
inside!!! Anyway, the next logisitc is FINDING A BIG
SPACE, preferably in a church where we could air parts
of the dress until it is completely dry! DO you by any
chance know of anywhere that migth be suitable? This
might take a few days!

Then we wondered if you would like to join us in
putting on some sort of little service on the Sunday.
Perhaps in the prayer room? Or the speak team culd go
along to serveral of the churches that you go to and
be family with you there? let me know what you think
about that.

Finally, is there any chance that you might be able to
find space in homes for 6 speak team people including
me? we have found church floor for the rest, but some
of us will be absolutely exhusted, (and very sore from
cycling), plus 2 of us will have no bedding (can't
carry it on the bike!)

So, I ma aware what I have written will cause many
more questions, however, it is at least a start!
sorry it is a rush, but i will hopefully talk on
Monday if not before, much love, hug and kisses, em
