RE: [glasgowspeakgroup] Just checking in!

Hi Rob,

The Glasgow group is made up of non-students (even Stuart is now working as a doctor) gathered from across the greater Glasgow area.  We have stopped meeting monthly and are functioning (to some extent) as a network.  The monthly meeting wasn't really working as we all had other commitments and no one was found to take any leadership role.

As far as I know there hasn't ever been a Speak group on any of the campuses in the Glasgow area through there has been a degree of work over the years in trying to connect with those on campus.  Maybe David or Jo would know a little more about that...

Subject: [glasgowspeakgroup] Just checking in!

Hello Glasgow folks!

I'm Rob Telford and I'm the new Regional Support Worker for SPEAK in
the northern office in Manchester.

At the moment, I'm covering Wales, the north of England, the
Midlands and yep, you guessed it, Scotland as well!

It'd be great if someone could give me a bit of an idea of how SPEAK
works in Glasgow and the surrounding area - I have notes made by Ele
Williams about there being a young adult group that has recently
stopped meeting, but I think Ele came and met with some of you in
May? What do any of you know about the activity on campus in Glasgow
(as I assume this group is primarily for young adults who have
graduated)?

Also, do you still meet once a month?

I'm just checking in really to see what's happening!

Cheers guys
Peace
Rob
