Last Saturday morning in London loads of smelly,
hippy, peacenik Christians from around the UK
descended on Hinde St Methodist Church. So soundcheck
had to meet elsewhere this year! This turned out to be
in a school among the run down housing of the East end
- an Ideal setting to be inspired by each other with a
little help from Tony Campolo and his stories of work
among other deprived communities.
This year there was a good bit of time for networking
so those of us based in Scotland (mainly from
Edinburgh and St Andrews) went for a long walk and
chat at lunchtime to see what each other was up to.
The Edinburgh people are planning things around the
anniversary of the abolition of slavery and we are
very welcome to join them. (Before I forget,
http://www.chaste.org.uk/ are promoting "Not for sale
Sunday".)
At a young adult workshop there were useful ideas on
maintaining a speak group after uni. And we in Glasgow
were presented with a set of gardening tools to help
remind and encourage us to tend and nurture our
group... or maybe someone knows about my allotment. :)
It was really good meeting Becca and Rob too. They are
stars!
I heard a rumour that some people from Glasgow may be
keen to bring the big dress (remember the squares?) up
here. That seems like a great wee project for us to
link up with, yes?
Hope everyone is well.

Ok, not all hippy peaceniks are smelly, just me and a
few others. BTW, did you see the low cost alternative
to Trident? Developed by a Swedish/Scottish/Iranian
partnership at a cost of £18.30 it's much cheaper (and
safer) than the £20 - 100 Billion version Blair/Brown
want. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=p5rnqqspOMs Ehm,
yes, maybe I have lost the plot.....
