Hi Troops,
Hope you are all doing well - Just got the following info from
cafedirect :-
National cinema release of "Black Gold"
On Saturday 2nd June at 1.00pm, prior to its nationwide release in the
UK later in the month, there will be an advanced screening of 'Black
Gold' at the Hay Festival. It is a documentary about the injustices of
the international coffee trade industry. The film follows the journey
of Tadesse Meskela, General Manager of the Oromia Coffee Farmers Co.
in Ethiopia, as he travels around the world to find buyers willing to
pay a fair price for his coffee.
The film opens your eyes to the international coffee trade and
demonstrates how every person who makes the conscious choice to ask
for Fairtrade coffee can genuinely make a difference.
After the screening there will be a Question & Answer session, where
people can talk to the filmmakers, Nick and Mark Francis.
The film is released in cinemas nationwide from 8th June and
Cafédirect is one of the official sponsors of the film release.
Over the last 16 years our unique business model has made a positive
impact on millions of growers and their families across the world. We
are delighted to be supporting 'Black Gold', to raise awareness of the
film and the issues of trade justice.
You will help the film to be seen by more people if you request your
local cinema to feature the film and also by signing up on the Black
Gold website: www.blackgoldmovie.com.
'Black Gold' really is a must see for any UK coffee drinker.
Enjoy your Bank Holiday weekend!
