Hi folks,
This Saturday it's the last Trailfairy session of the year! Sorry I couldn't make the last session and Rich's party - I was feeling particularly ropey and didn't stray far from my bed all weekend!
On Saturday the plan is to get the Trailfairy signs finally in place out on the trails - so it'll be a fairly easy going session. If folk were up for it we could also do a bit of fettling/deberming work on the Pie Run whilst we're over that way. We'll be meeting at 9am at the Ranger's Office. I'll bring the mince pies! Or if you're sick of those already, something else!
It's been another great year with the Trailfairies. Mushroom Pie was a bit of an epic build with the wet ground conditions and all but for me it's one of the funnest and most well built sections of trail in Glentress. Zoom or Bust was also/continues to be an epic build, but riders are really enjoying this section and it went down very well at the race. Thanks for everyone's efforts this year with the trail work. Here's to more sweet sections of trail in 2009!
Speaking of which, I've pencilled in trailbuilding dates for 2009. The first one will be on Sat 17th Jan, then fortnightly after that, right through the year. Dates are up at www.7stanes.gov.uk/glentresstrailfairies The rough plan is to keep working on Zoom or Bust to link up the two sections, then look at some new projects.
For folk who made it along to 5 or more sessions this year, I've got a free 2009 parking permit for you! I think I've contacted most of you. If anyone can make it down on Saturday I could give you it then, otherwise I'll mail it out.
The trailfairy teeshirts should also be here for Saturdays session. I know, I can't believe it either! I was trying to suss out a fair way of giving these out and figured the best way would be to give them to folk who've made it out to 5 or more sessions and then see what's left over. This sound ok?
Hopefully see you Saturday. If not have an excellent Christmas and New Year.
Cheers,
Andy
