Saturdays session saw a good number of 'fairies out to work some more
on Mushroom Pie. With a big group out progress was swift and we got
the final section of the trail dug out, including the landing area
for the optional gap jump and even a drain dug out for a pipe to sit
in for an inside draining (cambered in) turn. Top work!!
The bigger puddles and muddy bits along the middle section of the
trail also got some much needed attention and the whole tray is now
looking a lot drier (which makes me happy!). There's a couple of
seeps running onto the tray, but we can always pipe these or try some
other crafty drainage techniques to sort these when we come to
surface.
Speaking of which.. with the tray now just about all dug, are folk up
for getting some surfacing down next session? We've cut two access
routes down from the top road, which should hopefully avoid any
dreaded uphill wheelbarrowing, but may include some extreme
wheelbarrow descending! Piles of hardcore are dumped and i've
ordered some more wheelbarrows, shovels and gloves (yep, new
gloves!!).
Thanks again for all your efforts on Saturday. Hopefully see you on
the 9th Feb.
Forgot to mention at Saturdays sessions, but on Sun 10th Feb there is
a demo day at Glentress. Take a peek at www.bikeradar.com for info
on which manufacturers are coming. You can email them to book a bike
(or several!) to test, for free.
cheers,
Andy
