RE: [glentress-trailfairies] Progress report - 03.05.2008

Hello!

We have pies!  Forsyths of Peebles, purveyors of the finest pies in the land will be kindly supplying the 'fairies with some pies on Saturday for the opening on the trail.  They'll be just out of the oven at 1pm so should get up to the forest still hot!

Just need to find a local dignitry to do the opening!  Any suggestions??  Was thinking Carl Lane, Bike Patroller extraordinaire and local mountain bike legend would be perfect.  Will ask him.

The trail is coming along a treat.  Will be finishing off the boardwalk section near the start today and also getting the two skinnies into position this aft/Friday morning with the skidder.  Found some lovely big Douglas fir sticks on the old forest drive that'll get dragged round and hopefully into the trail ok with a bit of persuation!!

Got wackerplated from helter skelter to the second stream crossing yesterday - it's looking 'swooper-licious'.. or something like that!

See you Saturday,

Andy

in my trail building set.

During this session we completed most of the surfacing down to the
second stream crossing. We also made a start from the other end, from
the exit to that stream crossing. We also popped in a small bridge at
the second crossing. Gap jump to be completed later.

Andy revealed that he had tried out the completed parts of the trail and
professed himself "stoked". This came as a surprise to all, we never
knew he had it in him. He has received notice from the All Britain
Jayboy Association that he is now expected to hand in his membership,
Cross bike and Licra.

Next session is pencilled in as the opening day so we could do with a This email has been scanned by Netintelligence
