Re: [GMC Srinagar] why for heavens sake!!!!

gmcs is part of our lives. one of the very few and genuine 'life time
achievements'. nothing can replace it...not even the affluence of US.

i would like to impress upon all that to have a goal in life is more important
than just making it to US....its not the end of the world...after living in this
country for 4 years i believe that the best place u may live your life in is
your own hometown, Kashmir. there are frustrations in Kashmir, i agree, but
there are more in US. so cheer up and make the best use of the time u are
spending there. i hopefully someday we will join u back!

keep in touch.

Hey Javaid,
I dont agree with you that we have forgotten our
college, the fact is we consider it as a second home .
We love it and miss it and whenever we get together we
talk about it. Recently we had a small get-together at
Mayo clinic with some ex-GMC grads , 90 percent of the
talk was about GMC.
Please dont feel frustrated , if you are good the
whole world is for you. My suggestion to all GMS
students , take USMLE, get a good score and try to
make it to usa .What really helps is if you have some
research experiance , I know it is very difficult to
do research in kashmir, but not impossible .If you
have a PG esp in internal medicine it helps in getting
residency here.
My dream is one day , all good students of GMC will
make to top-notch residency programs in USA, believe
me it is not impssible .They deserve it .
Please feel free to mail me if you have any question
on USMLE or career options in USA.
